I survived Rheumatic Fever as a teenager and decided when natural therapeutics made a drastic change in my recovery after 3 months in bed; I would dedicate myself to coaching people in maintaining their health. As a graduate chiropractor from the only Canadian Chiropractic college, I was grounded in an orthopedic and neurological model of spinal and extremity manipulation. I was the first chiropractor appointed to look after the Canadian Olympic Track and Field Team (1984 LA, USA). After years in practice I realized patients needed a book that let them get a diagnosis and know when to see which specialist. Patients needed to become "Informed Consumers". I wrote the first edition of Goodbye Back Pain twenty years ago before the internet.
This updated version is full of discussions of new treatments and better preventive care.
